Theme of Administration.
This Administration is NEEDS ORIENTED. This means that the focus of this administration is to identify needs and come up with ideas, solutions, and strategies to meet those needs. These needs are in 2 categories which are;
Systemic Needs: This refers to needs of the Association as an organization which includes organizational needs, administrative needs, procedural and systemic needs. These organizational needs sponsored such initiatives as the Association’s website, setting up of various standing Committees and Ad-hoc Committees, 02 Set. Leadership forum, social media contents, opening of dedicated bank accounts etc. We shall also continue to identify administrative needs and come up with solutions and ideas to meet those needs.
Needs of Members: This refers to needs of individuals within the Association such as welfare needs and socio-economic needs. These needs led to such initiatives as the Cooperative Society, Economic Empowerment Programs and various welfare packages.
This Administration will continue to identify needs within the Association and strive to address and meet those needs.
PLANS FOR 2024
FINANCE – in 2024, we hope to raise funds through the following means: Payment of Dues by members, investment in businesses through our Finance, Business & Investment Committee, Online activities and presence, Social Media contents.
EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME – The Finance, Business & Investment Committee has a vision of raising 10 million naira which would be invested in business and other various form of investment. Profits from these investments and businesses would be used to give business and professional grants to members to help boost their businesses and empower them economically.
PUTTING MEMBERS ON PAYROLL - This Administration aims to put members of the Administration on payroll. This move will be dependent on what we are able to achieve financially. However, there are certain categories of our members who would be on the payroll as means of alleviating their economic situation.
CO-OPERATIVE- Registration of the Cooperative Society is complete and we are waiting for the Bye laws from the state government. Once the Bye Law is ready we would add our own peculiarities to come up with 02 Set. Cooperative Society Bye Law immediately after this we would conduct our Elections and elect Cooperative Executives. Savers are eligible to borrow from 6 months of savings. Those who borrow after less than 12 months of savings would pay 9% interest on their borrowed sum, while those who borrow after 12 months would pay 5% interest on their borrowed sum. Investors who buy shares would get 15% annual interest on their invested sum. The Cooperative would invest in businesses and profits would be shared to members of the Cooperative as dividends. We welcome investors.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT – We hope to acquire some equipment such as Projector, laptop, projector stands, extension wires and sound systems. This is to enable us have hitch free Annual Career Day events and other outreaches.
INSURANCE – The following insurance policies would be purchased for every financial member in the Association; Life Insurance, Domestics Accident, Okada Accident, Car Accident, Minor Injuries, Major Illness and temporary/permanent disabilities. Every member is advised to add 2 of their dependents to the insurance policy especially their parents.
SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT: We want to include Talk Shows and content creation into our state group hang-outs. We would discuss topics that are relatable and interesting and post the videos online as contents to boost our social media activities and online presence.
Finally, we want to solicit for the support and cooperation from members to achieve our plans for the year 2024 and to create value in the Association. Thank you.
